Thunder Alley was a television series that aired on ABC from March 1994 to July 1995. The show was created by Diane English, who also created the hit show Murphy Brown. Thunder Alley starred Ed Asner as retired NASCAR driver Gil Jones, who runs a garage and race team with his granddaughter (portrayed by Haley Joel Osment) and her mother (played by Jody Racicot). The show dealt with themes of family, coming of age, and redemption, as well as featuring high-octane racing scenes. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the show was cancelled after two seasons due to low ratings.
